The program presents a detailed perspective of the power sector with regulation building on fundamental economic principles. It focuses on developing insights into the development of electricity markets in India and discussing the challenges and way ahead. Further, the regulatory process in the power sector is explored using the prevailing, as well as national and international best practices. The content provides an understanding of the regulatory process considering the applicable engineering, economic, legal and environmental viewpoints. The modules will also have lectures by leading industry experts that will help the students to understand the challenges facing the power sector.

The program will be delivered in Hybrid mode in the form of live and recorded sessions to offer flexibility to the working professionals. The recorded sessions would be hosted at CER’s Online Learning Environment and Tools (OLET) platform. The program will be covered across 4 weeks and include multiple sessions of about 1 hour 20 min each (with total program duration of about 25 hours). The sessions would be delivered in the afternoon/evening hours on the working days, and pre-lunch hours on weekends and holidays. However, the program calendar/duration will be flexible to accommodate availability of the speakers and other constraints. Weekly calendar would be shared with the participants, in advance.
CER’s Online Discussion Forum (ODF), will enable discussion among participants on the topics covered under the ongoing programs. The participants may share their knowledge and opinion on a specific topic, exchange their views and ask for clarification through online discussion forum though the https://cer.iitk.ac.in/odf .
